The National Scientific and Technical Research Council (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, CONICET) is an Argentine government agency which directs and coordinates most of the scientific and technical research done in universities and institutes.

Thanks to a special scolarship from CONICET (based on PLAPIQUI, Bahía Blanca - Argentina, and the Technical University of Denmark, between 2001 and 2005), Martín Cismondi started his laureated scientific career and developed the first version of GPEC.
